On November 2, over seventy Waterford, NY based Momentive employees and family members came out in support of the Revolutionary Run for Veterans 5K, which recognizes past and present service of military veterans. As in past years, the 5K walk/run event served to build great camaraderie within the Momentive team and represented Momentive’s commitment to the visible and vocal support of local community initiatives. Several Momentive participants expressed how great it felt to be part of a company that is well-respected in the community! Waterford’s Director of Finishing Operations, Chris Curtis, provided start-line remarks, and touched on the fact that as Saratoga county’s second largest employer, the company is proud of the fact that nearly ten percent of the Waterford based employees are military veterans. With smiling faces, Momentive runners braved the thirty-five-degree (Fahrenheit) temperature that graced them just prior to race time!
We are excited to share our new program for entry level engineers. This program enables new engineers to gain exposure to different areas of the site early on, providing a higher level of understanding at an accelerated pace, as well as increased effectiveness once placed into permanent roles. In honor of World Cleanup Day, a global cleanup event held on September 12, Momentive organized its own activities around our Antwerp, Belgium office. A motivated team of eight (equipped with gloves, safety jackets and litter pickers) spent just over an hour cleaning the parking lot and the roads surrounding the building. This effort yielded approximately 50 kilograms of litter! Thank you to our Antwerp team for your enthusiasm and hard work in helping to make our world a cleaner place.
