Did you know that since 1968, Americans have celebrated National Hispanic Heritage Month starting on September 15? During this month, we celebrate the histories, cultures, and contributions of Americans whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America.
August 9’s International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples focuses on the contributions of Indigenous communities to the world. The day recognizes the first meeting of the UN Working Group on Indigenous Populations, which was held in Geneva in 1982.

At National Interstate and Vanliner, we continually look for process improvements to have a positive effect on the environment. In November of 2022, our Office Support Team updated the policy mailing procedure that will continue to save approximately 20,000 sheets of paper per month.

We are proud to participate in the @acrfoodbank Harvest for Hunger Giving Campaign to help in the fight against food insecurity in our community. While we are working toward a corporate-wide fundraising goal, our departments have challenged one another to a friendly “Canstruction” competition to create the best sculpture out of canned goods, which will all be donated. February is Black History Month. To start the month, we are highlighting the first Black-owned insurance company in the United States, African Insurance Company. Established in 1810, African Insurance Company sought to provide security for the African American community. While not affiliated with National Interstate, African Insurance Company holds an important spot in the history of insurance and served as a forerunner of socio-economic change across the industry.
