On #WorldRefugeeDay, we're reminded that 65.6 million people around the world have been forced out of their homes by conflict & crisis. Many of them escaped with only what they could carry on their backs. #TeamSony is proud to support the work of International Medical Corps which provides much needed healthcare & training to refugee communities around the world. See how they do it: http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQ8Oe #SonyCares
Did you know: The month of June was chosen for LGBT Pride Month to commemorate the Stonewall riots, which occurred at the end of June 1969. The Stonewall riots were a "tipping point" for the gay liberation movement in the United States. The uproar also paved the way for the modern fight for LGBT rights. #SonyProud #TeamSony

Getting Koovy at Sony Electronics' Headquarter in San Diego! Thank you Educators for a great 1st round of our Teacher Externship Program which was designed to provide teachers with a hands-on learning opportunity in a real-world business setting outside of the classroom. #SonyCares #TeamSony
So much to teach, so much to learn at Sony’s Teacher Externship Program! Today we’re launching the Teacher Externship Program at SNA headquarters in partnership with the San Diego County Office of Education and the Classroom of the Future Foundation (CFF). Sony Electronics has proudly partnered with the CFF since 1997 and our own Michiko Araki Kelley, Vice President of New Business, serves on the Board of Directors. This two-day program is the first of its kind in San Diego County and it’s designed to provide six teachers from Clairemont High School and Monarch School with real-world, experiential learning opportunities as a first pilot group, and expanded to more teachers if the feedback is positive. #SonyCares #TeamSony
We see the potential in young creators! Sony was proud to sponsor the iVIE Awards, hosted by the Media Arts Center San Diego. Each year, students from grades K-12 create video projects with within 8 designated categories including crossover curriculum, News Program, Zero Waste, and Global Village. This year they received 350 submissions from over 700 students who also attended the award ceremony and Creative Career Expo, which Sony also took part in. The event was hosted by local radio host DJ Ethan Cole, from Channel933 and special guest presenter for the Grand Recognition Award, our own Michiko Araki Kelley, Head of New Business. “It was wonderful to see the point of views from elementary school students to high school students on a variety of topics. In this visual era, Sony’s technology can help them telling their stories and influencing many people’s lives in a creative way,” she said about the event. Sony continues to inspire creatives of all generations by maintaining our dedication to premium products that make their visions come to life and make the world say WOW! #TeamSony
