Great company and compensation
Apr 26, 2023 - RETAIL SALES SUPERVISOR in San Jose, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Unlimited PTO, company vehicle, some travel to Las Vegas (CES) or HQ in San Diego for meetings.
Cons
Responsibility of the role changed with covid and a couple years without a raise felt like I was doing more for less.

Great place for people with less than 5 years of experience
May 22, 2023 - Manager in San Diego, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Great place to learn and train on the job.
Cons
Experience is no longer valued, especially in the Corporate Finance and Corporate Planning. People who have been employed for more than 10 years, can see cycles repeating, but no one in upper management listens.

Everything comes down to having a set of good managers
May 11, 2023 - Senior Business Development Manager in San Mateo, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Massive company with tons of opportunities in everything from electronics to game development to movies and music. Over all I think people are very happy to work there and as in most companies it comes down to having a good manager. I have been fortunate to have some of the best managers in my career at Sony
Cons
I was unfortunate to end up in a dead end of the company with all my managers located in either Sweden or Japan. I had the feeling that the reason for why myself and the rest of my team of 4 people where there just so my managers could say that our bigger team had an office in Silicon Valley. This bad time lasted for about 5 years before I decided to leave the company. I should also point out that before this bad time I have been fortunate to have have some of the best managers in my career and then had a great time at the company.

Great company, but role isn’t for everyone
Apr 24, 2023 - Regional Sales Supervisor in Nashua, NHRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Work with the newest consumer electronics and share the experience with others in the industry.
Cons
Retail / environment is changing - being phased out. Role is constantly changing.

Pros
Sony Electronics is an advocate for Work Life Balance. We are provided Free Fridays to relax. Catch up on emails, take in a sit-com, have pizza nite for lunch. However you'd like to spend it, it's yours. Also, Sony provides services to balance family. My family is my elderly mother. With Bright Horizons, I am able to schedule an aide to help her while I take a quick vaca with my husband. BH is a blessing. Last, but not least Virgin Pulse. I love the app, my coach and how Sony encourages healthy mental and physical well being.
Cons
none that I can think of.

Opportunities and management support for business process excellence keep the workplace energetic, engaging, and fulfilling. The company has made progress over the last 5 years to support work life balance.

Working across cultures and with overseas headquarters can make work decisions challenging. Work-life balance initiatives are not yet evenly available across all departments and functions.
