This Pride Month, our Spectrum LGBTQ Business Resource Group (BRG) is facilitating a host of activities, which further supports our company's commitment to fostering LGBTQ acceptance and equality. From a webinar exclusive to members of Spectrum LGBTQ (on "Fostering LGBTQ Championship at Work" which makes the case for LGBTQ workplace inclusion. The webinar will provide a concrete understanding of "championship" along with basic tools needed to support and advocate for our LGBTQ colleagues), to Spectrum LGBTQ member spotlights, to an all employee Charter Inclusion Talk (with a ground-breaking former Marine who will talk about authentic leadership and breaking boundaries), we celebrate our LGBTQ community through June and beyond.
In honor of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, award-winning journalist Laura Ling joined Robert Santos, Spectrum News Chief Meteorologist, for our Charter Inclusion Talk. Hundreds of employees joined this webinar to hear Laura’s message of empowering strong voices in the AAPI community and her advice on how to have conversations that create a welcoming and inclusive workplace environment.
On May 14th, we kicked off 2022 Spectrum Community Assist events in Denver, CO, at the Focus Points Family Resource Center. 53 Spectrum employees helped make physical improvements to the center including building shade coverings for raised garden beds, painting the community room, and setting up a portable smart board for the Spectrum Training & Technology Center. The Spectrum team presented Focus Points Family Resource Center with a $50,000 check to help fund the center's efforts to grow its Economic Opportunity program and provide workforce, entrepreneurial and community engagement training.
