Last week we celebrated Thanksgiving together with our last potluck #FreeLunchThursday of the year. It was delicious! We're excited for the fun holiday festivities coming in December.
It's been a festive Fall in HQ! Last week, we hosted our annual Chili Cook Off and crowned new winners - Kevin took 1st place with Smoke, Spice & Friday Night Lights and Knowles took 2nd place with Chili Bean is Not My Lover. October wrapped up with a festive pumpkin carving contest. Congrats to Eric who won with The Nightmare Before Christmas carving!
Some fun lately: We hosted some guests for the Washington Capitals opening night game at the SynerSuite at Capital One Arena in DC. Now we just need to get that Win next time! In addition, one of our highly skilled front-end developers, Tom, traveled to the Adobe Max conference to talk all things AI out on the West Coast.
We hosted a delicious MEAT🍖A🍗PALOOZA potluck lunch last week and it was such a hit! Everytime we put on a potluck we are blown away by the amount of talented chefs who work here. Attendees voted on their favorite side dish and favorite meat, crowning Joe for his twice baked potatoes and Kevin for his leg of lamb with homemade tzatziki and pickled red onions.
It's 95 degrees this week in Maryland (sweating) which means employees need to remain hydrated and care for themselves with UV protecting clothing. Each employee was gifted a summer wellness bundle to keep them cool the rest of the season.
Summer is coming to a close soon but not before some races, a chess tournament and the Big 3 at Capital One Arena! Some Synergist employees raced in the Annapolis 10 Miler and Philadelphia 10k at the end of August - they absolutely crushed it! Neil claimed the top spot in our first ever Synergist Chess Championship, and will display this trophy on his desk for the next year. A few Synergist families took their kids to the Big 3 game at Capital One Arena, enjoying floor seats and our Synergist suite reserved for employees.
Our mentors had a great time working with incredible students at University of Maryland's Break Through Tech mentorship guild. The guild provides students with hands-on experience tackling real-life challenges with the help and support of technology professionals from their area. The future is bright đź’ˇ
Our Synergist suite at Capital One Arena has seen lots of happy faces this year for sports, special events, and concerts!
One for the books! We crowned our first ever Hot Wing Champion last week at an epic happy hour event. The contestants ate 13 hot wings in under 5 minutes, and they were not dainty wings. Way to kill it, Greg! Also, if you were curious, the flats won in our vote by a mile.
