We asked eight Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) students to participate in a design challenge to create a collection of one-of-a-kind, upcycled coats made from unwearable items from our inventory — and they delivered. A panel of judges, including FIT faculty mentors, TRR's President & COO Rati Sahi Levesque, legendary model Pat Cleveland, and celebrity stylist Erin Walsh lent their expertise. Harper's Bazaar gives a glimpse into the world of "luxury sourcing" – when a consumer employs a well-connected fashion expert to help them find what they’re looking for e.g. Bottega Veneta’s drop earrings or a Phoebe Philo-era Celine tote bag – and quotes our very own Master Authenticator Dominik Halas. He says the shift to luxury sourcing “signals a more invested and thoughtful kind of customer." These are shoppers who have done their homework. “Exclusivity and luxury have evolved to no longer be just about price and availability—think traditional waitlists for Hermès Birkins or exclusive watches—but now includes hard-to-find pieces from seasons past. Last month during National Hispanic Heritage Month, TRR honored the history, culture and contributions of Hispanic and Latinx Americans. Our employees celebrated the significance of this month by participating in cultural celebrations, including a conversation on Afrolatinx identity hosted in partnership with our Black Employee Network, salsa dancing lessons, spirit days, and a game of Loteria, to be able to learn more about the "cultura". Thank you to our HOLA Employee Resource Group (ERG) for planning special moments for us to embrace and celebrate the rich history and traditions of our various communities.
