Our Global Information Security Team works diligently to safeguard UGI and our customers’ data against cyber threats and protect the integrity of UGI’s information and systems across 18 countries. This #CybersecurityAwarnessMonth UGI’s Global Information Security Team is hosting speaker sessions to educate and empower UGI employees with the tools they can use to protect sensitive information and systems against cyber threats. Our President & CEO, Roger Perreault, kicked off the Speaker Series and shared his experience with cyber threats. Tracey Brand-Sanders, UGI’s Chief Information Security Officer, moderated the panel members of UGI’s own cybersecurity team along with a guest cybercrimes expert, answered employee questions and discussed the various ways we can all recognize and defend against phishing attempts and other cyber threats, including using strong passwords, turning on multifactor authentication (#MFA), and updating software to the latest version when possible. We were joined by representatives from United Way and Open Hearth, Inc., a United Way nonprofit partner dedicated to community building efforts and providing housing, transportation, and financial management services for those in need, to learn how United Way is impacting lives everyday in our communities. Members of UGI’s United Way committee also shared details about the exciting events we have planned for employees to participate in throughout the coming week, including virtual BINGO, Office Olympics, and our executive luncheon where UGI leaders serve lunch to employees as a “Thank You” for supporting this year’s campaign. UGI has a long-standing tradition of supporting United Way. Since 1997, UGI employees have donated more than $10 million to support community-wide care throughout the region. TRANSPARENCY In 2020, UGI committed to a sponsorship role with the Human Library for the creation of a digital learning platform that will expand the reach of the Human Library’s diversity experiences across the globe. ACTION UGI began working with the Human Library in 2020 for diversity and inclusion education for its leadership development, supervisor training and new hire onboarding programs. PROGRESS Over the past year, nearly 500 employees participated in the Human Library “reader sessions” and UGI expects that more than 500 additional employees will participate in the coming year.
