April was a big month at Utility Warehouse. Our Learning & Development team launched #TogetherWeGrow 🚀, a 30-day event with four diverse challenges that gave the awesome UW community a platform to connect with each other and grow mentally, physically and even socially. And our people showed up 🙌 We’re one team at UW. We recognise that we win when our team wins 🏆. So, we’re excited to share and celebrate just some of the hundreds of steps our people took on their personal growth journeys last month…
Utility Warehouse Mini's have been turning heads for years. Our distinctive vehicles have been driven by eligible Partners the length and breadth of the UK. But at our recent Power Up event, we announced a new, more environmentally friendly car. And one that is sure to turn heads too. Eligible UW Partners are now able to drive off in a brand new Tesla Model 3. And last week, the first ever UW Tesla was driven away by Hannah and Will Grover, UW Senior Group Leaders. These cars are another way that UW is doing more to help the world around us. And the cars look pretty great, too...
We’re on week three of our #TogetherWeGrow event. This week, we’re all about the new, and we're encouraging our employees to expand their horizons. Whether that’s something they’ve had a burning desire to learn for months or it’s a spur-of-the-moment idea, we want to see people pushing themselves to learn something brand new. The last year has seen us stuck in our houses and homes without much freedom. You may have already embarked on a journey to learn a new skill or you may have been putting it off. Whatever it may be, we want to see you experiencing new things. We’ve got a great giveaway for our employees who get involved, with some wonderful Mindful Chef boxes on offer. We want to see you trying new things so get involved with the hashtag #TogetherWeGrow

It’s week two of our #TogetherWeGrow event. Last week, we urged UW staff to get (re)connected. And we saw dozens of you signing up for random coffees, joining social Slack channels, as well as reaching out to old and new colleagues alike. And now we’re onto week two – which is all about your mental wellbeing. We are challenging UW employees to be more aware of their mental state and undertake some practices to improve their overall well being. Whether that’s speaking to one of our mental health nurses or taking up a wellness class – like pilates or yoga. Do you have any mental health practices of your own? Let us know in the comments or post a video on your story with the hashtag #TogetherWeGrow
Utility Warehouse has won two prizes at the 2021 Uswitch Energy Awards. We've been named Best Reward/Incentive as well as Best Meter Reading Service. We are also ranked fourth overall in the Best Supplier Category. We’re absolutely delighted to have won these awards, especially from such a prestigious organisation as Uswitch. We couldn’t have done this without all our employees, Partners, and customers so we want to say a big thank you to all of you.
You've heard from our finance team and now it's time to join us. Head over to our career pages to see the Senior Finance Business Partner roles we have on offer. And check out the video below for more insight into what we're looking for.
Our finance team is leading the business through an exciting transformation agenda. Hetal Desai joined the business at the end of 2020 and we caught up with him to talk through to how he's finding life at Utility Warehouse so far - and what's in store for 2021.
We recently spoke to some of our Home-Based Customer Service team and asked them how they were finding their new roles with UW. Here's what they had to say.
Last year, we created the UW Foundation and one of our aims is to plant a tree for every new customer who signs up for all of our services. Our aim is to plant 100,000 trees over the next 12 months, creating the UW Woodland in Bryn Arw. These trees - forming a woodland that will be the size of 70 football pitches - will absorb 20,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide. Our CEO recently visited Bryn Arw to plant the first of our 100,000 trees.
