4,000 boxes of much needed toiletries and food were packed today for hurricane relief at Walmart 2214 in Columbia, SC and are heading to the hardest hit areas of the Carolinas. We are honored Walmart was able to team up with Serve & Connect, law enforcement from the entire state of South Carolina, 100 of our own associates, and volunteers from a multitude of organizations and businesses - it was an incredible day, and the amount of good happening as everyone came together was beautiful to witness.
Walmart’s Mobile Relief Kitchen was in North Port, FL alongside our Walmart Transportation team and Tyson Foods. Our truck drivers have been running this kitchen for the last three weeks across different areas in the southeast in the aftermath of Hurricane’s Helene & Milton. The day before we arrived to help, they had served over 9,000 meals in one day. It’s hard work, it’s nonstop, and it’s exhausting. But these drivers were so powered by purpose, you only heard how proud they were to be serving.

Dolly Parton partners with Walmart with massive donation to help Helene flood victims
We are incredibly proud of how Sam's Club, Walmart, and the Walmart Foundation have stepped up to support our associates and the community in the wake of Hurricane Helene. While I was in North Carolina this week, I heard countless stories of how our associates have stood tall and lent their support – from providing food and supplies to first responders and utility workers, to brave rescue efforts that resulted in every Sam’s Club associate being accounted for. I am grateful to be part of this incredible business that shows up for our communities and for each other when it’s needed the most.
The freshness is seen every day in Walmart's throughout the U.S. Thank you for our food and grocery teams for keeping our customers satisfied with diverse and healthy fresh options.
Today, 47 Walmart trucks arrived at stores, clubs and community organizations across South Carolina and North Carolina delivering essential supplies. A huge thank you to the drivers, associates and teams who are on the ground, teams working with local, state and federal officials, and serving communities in so many ways. We know there will be a long recovery ahead. Today is one piece of a larger and longer-term effort to help all of our impacted communities recover. Looking to help? We are matching donations to the American Red Cross 1:1, up to $2.5 million, when donations to support hurricane relief are made at the registers in stores and clubs and on Walmart.com from Sept. 30 – Oct. 13. If you’ve been impacted, check out our comprehensive list of resources and aid, including locations for mobile services like food, showers, and laundry. We’re here to support.
