I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Express (Jacksonville, FL) in Apr 2010
Interview
I interviewed for a co-manager position despite my store manager experience because I was told I would be bench to take over the store within 6 months to a year. Needless to say, that never happened. The store manager never left, and is still there. Regardless, for the position, I interviewed in person with the Store Manager, and then in person with the District Manager. That was it. When I got promoted to Store Manager, I had no additional interviews.

Question 1
Tell me about a time when you developed someone on your team to a higher position, and what it was you recognized in them to make you do so.
There was no phone screen, just a call to confirm interview availability. One interview with store manager at the store. Basic questions about experience and expectations. Called with an offer shortly thereafter.
It was conducted in the back office of an Express store. It was an hour long. I did not have to do a second interview. They were hiring for multiple positions at multiple locations.
