What is the salary like at American Greetings?

Always a variety of things to do. Some days more creative than others. Being able to make my own schedule has been the most important benefit of being a merchandiser.

The pay is low to average, not great based on the cost of living in the state of CA. Time allotted is always too little and not realistic for the amount of work it requires to finish the tasks assigned.

Flexible hours, good pay, nice people

Very physical work. Body will hurt even when you get used to it.

This is great job with flexible work hours if you have a knowledgeable field manager who has great people managing skills.

Problem is if you go from a great manager to a horrible one the job goes from good to bad. The new field manager in the Tampa, FL market is HORRIBLE. People who have been working there for years are quitting due to him. The pay isn't great. The work is much more demanding then you would think and you don't get paid for travel. And you have a manager who is a jerk.

Make my own hours. Works well for a retired person not for someone looking for a steady work week

Low pay and they expect an awful lot to be done in a few hours

Flexible hours. Loved working on resets with other merchandisers. Good pay.

Dealing with managers and receivers at stores who weren't always willing to work with you. Dealing with angry customers of the stores who are looking for help, but you don't work there,

flexible schedule (for the most part), work independently, interesting product, "rose points"

unrealistic expectations. often required to do 4 hours of labor in 2 hours or less. provides conflicting and vague information. high standards for low pay and minimal hours. no room for advancement.

The pay was pretty decent.

The management was more focused on the cards

Create your work schedule, good pay, independent work, meet people and work in a creative environment.

Work on some Holidays and downtime in the summer months.
