A great job to get to meet different people from all backgrounds. They offer good benefits, the work is easy, and the management is nice. The job offer snacks and have special days that they feed the employees.
Good benefits, different setting every day, routine tasks, and plenty of hours available.
Cons
Inconsistent work hours, inconsistent pay scale (new hires start at same rate as seasoned staff), lack of leadership trickles down from management to supervisors to lead staff.
The company has actually tried to make improvements for their employees by increasing benefits, DEI, and focusing on work/life balance. The amount of lifers and long term employees speaks volumes for how well they treat their employees. I will probably be here until I retire
The pros are that it is a unionized job, so the pay and benefits are pretty good. everything else bad. i would only recommend this if you don't value work/life balance at all, and desperately need money or experience.
Cons
you're doing mandatory overtime constantly, and you have to come in on your off days/shifts for it. 3rd shift is a mess and management treats us like crap. I never leave jobs that quick
It’s a global company, and the people who work there are hard workers. The LA Region is definitely the most progressive Region in the American Red Cross, lots of opportunity to innovate and try new things.
Cons
It’s a large non-profit; meaning it has a LOT of inefficiencies and a lot of “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” to their basically broken, if not fully outdated, systems. The pay and benefits for the amount of work and commenting that is expected is not comparable.
