How is race or ethnicity talked about at AstraZeneca?

AstraZeneca, great company in general to work for.

Technology does not live up to the AZ values. Particularly in the UK and the Macclesfield site. Very little diversity, next to no people of colour or differing backgrounds within what is a large organisation of over 200 people. Nepotism is rampant with jobs going to mates, all from the same socio background. Decision making is not transparent, training is poor unless one of the 'chosen' ones

looks good on resume because it’s big pharma

Poor corporate culture and salary, lots of racial bias

Very high flexibility at work. People are goal oriented and nice to deal with.

They says diversity but the new joiners are only one nationality and HR is mostly in that nationality. Politics

Great pipeline and the company is doing very well as a business.

The company doesn't treat employees well. They are doing very well as a business but there is an illogical and short sighted drive to get rid of people in certain locations. Development and growth is also very poor with unconscious bias favouring people from certain demographics.

Leadership lacks empathy and strategic thinking. Too much of leadership focused decision making and the key values do not align with their actions. Employee opinions advertised to be valued but mostly ignored. Reorgs and layoffs very often and valuable employees were lost due to leadership being too far from the employees. Office mandate. Personal life consuming work culture in enterprise technology services. Undervalued tech departments. Budget cuts very often.
