Pros
Bain is a fantastic company to work for that takes care of its people. The benefits are outstanding, the MA/EA team is unmatched in collaboration and teamwork, and the program managers are incredibly supportive and promote an incredible culture. On top of this, while other companies were struggling and folks were losing their jobs, Bain prioritized keeping their employees. It was tough during the hiring freeze, but I cannot express how much gratitude I have for the company for taking care of us, resulting in quite a fantastic boom of business as of late. In short, the only reason I will ever leave Bain is if they fire me.
Cons
The MA role has changed quite a bit over the past few years, making the work/life balance harder for those supporting heavy users and client-heavy projects. The Manager Assistant role can sometimes feel like a senior executive assistant role with the massive amount of client interaction. It can get incredibly busy at times and isn't reflected in pay or job title. Also, while it is encouraged to focus on professional development, there is a very limited career path for the EA/MA team. In addition, If you join the remote team, you are excluded from all in-person offsites and gatherings, which can sometimes feel isolating.
