      Business Outlook

      Pros

Great pay, benefits, culture and growth opportunities

      Cons

      Sustainability, working hours, competition, stress

      Great place to work

      Pros

At the admin level, the work is very easy, good pay, and amazing benefits.

      Cons

No career growth, management isn't great, promotions, come maybe once every two years

      Abusive and Unproductive Work Environment

      Technology solutions group
      Current employee

      Business Outlook

      Pros

      - Great benefits and compensation overall - Specialized teams - Once in a while office event - Affinity groups try to do more things here than at any other place I've worked at in the past

      Cons

      - Consistent poor planning from Leadership Team and business - Poor alignment and communication among departments and between stakeholders - Extremely toxic environments where people are so stressed and confused in so much chaos at times that they recur to throw others under the bus and make no hesitation when it comes to complaining about every little thing while bringing down others along the way with them - Very little to no recognition for all the efforts made including constantly approving exceptions that mean rushing for our teams and dropping everything, and for extremely demanding work done despite on time delivery and high quality work delivered consistently - Lack of clear expectations from day one (and you would still be responsible and at fault for this) - Lack of role clarity from day one and only gets worse (and you would still be responsible and at fault for this, and affected in your performance reviews despite not being your fault.) - People will take things away from you that you own and then use it against you as not taking enough ownership or prioritizing properly - people will overstep your role and act as your manager when they are not. - Hiring freeze now for 2+ years, teams constantly overwhelmed and stretched out. Compensation merit increases being severely affected by firm performance despite having double digit profit % increases over the year. Completely reckless and inconsiderate from management. Be warned, this is a very intense job but for all the wrong reasons, and can be miserable at times with very long hours as you navigate all the noise and chaos coming from all directions. My recommendation if you still want to try out Bain as a company is to perhaps look at other areas outside of Technology Solutions Group (TSG) but in the end, the issue seems more widespread than our teams / department in some of the concerning areas as stakeholders are already in another department and they are actually the main perpetrators of our most miserable days at work.

      Great employer

      Associate consultant
      Former employee
      Warsaw, Masovia
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Good salary, flexibility, benefits, growth opportunities

      Cons

Very long hours, a lot of unpredictability

Good learning opportunity, terrible work life balance

      Senior associate consultant
      Current employee
      Washington, DC
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

You learn a lot on the job, across a variety of skills and industries

      Cons

The hours expected make it really difficult to have a work life balance. Even if a day isn't that busy, the expectation to be online and available, having to work around senior manger's personal schedules etc can keep you chained to your desk.

      Great work life balance

      Coordinator
      Current employee
      Gurgaon, Haryana

      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Work-Life Balance: The company genuinely respects work-life balance. There’s a clear encouragement to log off on time, and there’s no pressure to stay late unnecessarily. Learning Opportunities: A variety of training programs and upskilling resources are available. Employees are encouraged to continuously grow and develop professionally. Approachable HR Team: HR is accessible and responsive. One-on-one connects can be scheduled anytime, and the team is supportive and helpful. Performance Development: Regular performance discussions (PDs) ensure that feedback, growth, and career goals are proactively addressed. Supportive Management: Managers — particularly in my department — are collaborative, understanding, and actively involved in team development.

      Cons

Slow Promotion Cycle: Like many large corporates, career progression here can be quite slow. It often takes several years to achieve a single promotion, regardless of performance or impact. This can be discouraging for high-performing individuals seeking faster growth. Opaque Promotion Decisions: Management decisions around promotions lack transparency. At times, they seem influenced more by internal politics or tenure than merit or results. Limited Recognition for Extra Effort: While the culture is supportive, consistent overperformance doesn’t always translate into timely recognition or advancement. Room for Leadership Accountability: There’s a need for stronger accountability and clearer communication from leadership, especially around career pathing and development opportunities.

      Pros

Good career opportunity for someone who is starting; make sure you get staffed on a case that will help you build your promoters, and prioritize that over personal preferences

      Cons

Really hard to develop promoters if you are not consistently working with the same group of people.
