Does CVS Health offer massages?

Pros

Pay is good benefits are ok

Cons

Repetitive, supervisors don't know anything, alot of gossip in the work place. Schedule is aweful for night shift, your only free time will be your days off. We used to have a cook for night shift and free coffee but to cut costs and increase profits they took those perks away from us now they only offer prepackaged food that is disgusting

Does CVS Health have a pension plan?

Pros

As compared to other retailers, about the same, as the industry is in agreement on the future of retailing regarding most everything. I cannot think of any company policy that is superior to other retailers regarding wages, benefits or working conditions. They have a (Union) pension for hourly employees, BUT it's a Defined Benefit plan that can be reduced to virtually zero if we experience high inflation, so as pensions go, I wouldn't consider that to be a "pro".

Cons

Very little room for advancement - the structure is pyramidal with a high turnover in management personnel. There's been a gradual reduction in all employees over the years with a goal of utilizing as many "U-Scans" as possible. I doubt that there will be Store Managers assigned to a single location in the not-to-distant future, but one manager assigned to multiple stores with as much activity and responsibility transferred to the Headquarters; this is the future of retailing and the sector plan has been in place for at least a decade. At CVS there has been a gradual reduction in force and the result has been higher profitability, but generally-unsightly and unkempt stores; there just isn't enough personnel to do the obvious priorities at register, signage and stocking and still have time to conditioning and cleaning. Many of the busier 24 Hour stores were recently reduced to 17 hours maximum, so those locations no longer have the third shift available to get the store in good condition before opening. Much of the problem is related to the push for normalization of a 32hr work week. The union supports it, assuming it would result in more employees but that hasn't occurred. One serious problem is an often- dysfunctional payroll system. I advise anyone who is employed by CVS to keep a thorough track on their hours and expected gross as well as net pay.

Advice to Management

As it now stands, CVS management is not very transparent about the company's plans about either the future or present issues; they are quite secretive about most everything, so without the necessary information, I'm in no position to offer advice about anything .... except to be a bit more transparent.
