Lots of physical demand of standing/twisting/bending/lifting (depending on position,) retail entitlement can be hard to ignore, company has negatively changed a lot from former Ceo's-more about numbers and less about the employees, $ pay compensation hardly makes the stress worth it anymore, being a good employee doesn't mean much, (location based) very busy and takes a toll on your mental health, sink or swim mentality- lucky to get training due to being short staffed so much, can't retain employees anymore

My time at Costco was an overall pleasant experience. The benefits are terrific even for part time employees and the culture is decent. There is a high level of professionalism Overall, I think this creates a better product and shopping experience.

Sometimes the professionalism is taken to a fault and certain things are taken too seriously for an unskilled, entry-level position. Part time scheduling can be tough at times.

Overall, this is a great company to work for. The benefits are fantastic, and the pay is well above the industry standard for retail. They were always flexible with anything I needed whether it was schedule conflicts or life events. This is a company that rewards you for staying with them. They do invest in their employes if you know where to look and what questions to ask. It's far from perfect but it's an organization of people like any other so there are bound to be imperfections. Most of the job with Costco is just about perspective and how you perceive it everything else is just gravy.

Hours are not so great. If you're a merchandiser you will more than likely work either 2:15-10:45pm or 4:15-12:45am at full time hours. Obviously, you will work weekends as it is retail, but in time as you gain seniority you can start to request at least one weekend day off to enjoy.
