A disorganised and inconsistent recruitment process that reflects deeper cultural issues
Pros
Some committed individuals, global brand recognition, structured corporate policies.
Cons
Poor communication throughout recruitment, inconsistent expectations, lack of transparency, slow decision making, and a process that leaves candidates feeling undervalued. My experience with DHL Express’s recruitment process highlighted significant internal disorganisation and a lack of respect for candidates’ time. Communication was sporadic, timelines shifted without explanation, and expectations were unclear from one stage to the next. For a company of this size, the process felt surprisingly unstructured and disconnected. It ultimately left the impression of a culture where accountability is diluted and candidates are treated as an afterthought rather than future colleagues. I would encourage DHL to review their recruitment practices to ensure they reflect the professionalism they promote externally.
