The Hourly Wage is far below the average (around 15 an hour) for large retailers. Home Depot is currently paying 3 dollars an hour more just to be a regular associate. I am unsure why DSG is having such a hard time keeping up. The store I worked at had a massive issue with payroll. Every time we closed, there would be one person running all the hard lines and floor because corporate does not give enough hours to associates. The store is unorganized due to this.
Cons: managers threaten daily (over the intercom radios) to write up employees and/or fire them if they aren't accosting customers with upsells, meaning when a customer says no to an upsell - employees are required to sell at least 3 more times in an effort to wear the customer down. This is toxic, creates a hostile work environment and is bad for customers.
Employees refused breaks they are allowed by law to take. Also, this location violates ADA and discriminates.
Critical and hostile work environment with lack of appreciation for employee effort and performance.
Employees and customers are treated poorly - avoid at all costs
Company had unrealistic expectations for their minimum wage employees
