Pros
Working from home and moderate employee benefits.
Cons
From very my first interaction with GoDaddy, and throughout my entire two years of employment, the consistency of disinformation never stopped. During the initial hiring process , I was lead to believe my position would be a sales centric role proving quality products, with uncapped commissions, minimal IT work, with an emphasis on PTO that was available at any time; this could not have been further from the truth. A normal day consist of taking 30-60 calls, 90% of which are severely disgruntled business owners having issues with their products who are generally hung out to dry by the "solutions" available. In the same act you are expected to up sale customers, as this accounts for a majority of the revenue produced. A heavy percentage of these sales are for low quality products that the customer does not need and in a lot of cases, causes more problems for their business. Managers will specifically tell you verbatim how to word falsities for specific products so the consumer believes the purchase is essential. It does not feel good to knowingly scam your way to quota every single week. If you fail to exceed quota consistently, you are then subjected to a shift change which happens every six months, for the entire department. Management shuffles the higher grossing employees to more relaxed shifts, with comfortable hours and lengthier breaks, opposed to the lower tiers who are designated with extremely awkward hours and minimal break time. Commissions are capped, giving literally no incentives once you meet the limit. When a top producer for the entire company addressed his concerns a for the capped commissions in a meeting he was told and I quote "to seek opportunities else where if not satisfied". The PTO is a joke, you are in a department of over two hundred people, in which you are expected to abide by a maximum of 40 hours PTO for a given day. Each shift consist of 8-10 hours, meaning only 4-5 people out of the entire department are allowed to use PTO for that day. Due to this you are expected to schedule PTO 2-3 months in advance with a convoluted automated call out system. PTO is only made available 90 days in advance, making it super difficult in the summer and holiday seasons to get any time off for vacation. This job is draining, degrading and low paying. This company reeks of corporate greed and I recommend anyone who wants somewhat of a fulfilling job to seek opportunities else where.
