Pros

- The Tech stack is good. - Salary is competitive, not above market, but competitive. - Relocation from other countries. - The product has a lot to grown and handles a lot of money.

Cons

- Decisions are not data-backed, just feelings - No ownership sense, everyone does the minimum, knowing that the minimum is enough and nothing will happen (It's impossible to fire someone) - Too many management layers, the company is growing and they couldn't find a good structure. - No space for growing, most of the people that want to grow leaves the company between 2 years, the rotation is HUGE. - The salary is "competitive" with other companies, but those companies have other great benefits such as lunch, snacks, Klarna poses as a startup that is profitable and is focused in money but the salary is not very good.

Advice to Management

- Create a bonus program for the employees, RSU doesn't work, people want money, if the company achieve goals, everyone should be rewarded. - Have a better way to handle BI within Klarna, Qlicksense is not very good, not very intuitive and it's super hard to know how the company is going and how I can help. - The office space, amenities, and benefits need to improve a lot, or then raise the salary to be above the market. - Even that thing that careers at Klarna is not a straight line, it looks more like a U-turn, management doesn't know what they are doing, competence leads doing the job of accountable leads and chasing people, accountable leads that don't know people management. - This CL/AL/CGL/AGL/DL doesn't work for engineering as it is, it must be rethought.

The salary is "competitive" with other companies, but those companies have other great benefits such as lunch, snacks, Klarna poses as a startup that is profitable and is focused in money but the salary is not very good.

Pros

I have been working at Klarna for 1.5 years and have learned more in the past year and a half than in my entire career. At Klarna, the culture is one of a kind. Everyone you meet is passionate, intelligent, caring, and shares the same personal and professional values. Working at Klarna you get to wear a lot of hats and work on many different projects at once. Klarna is fast-pace and you get to see your work have an immediate impact on the business and growth.

Cons

The promotion and salary adjustment at Klarna could be better communicated to leaders and individual contributors. I have already seen immense improvement on this in the last year and am looking forward to the future of the promotion process. While working for an international company, time zones are also a con, however, there is not much we can do there besides be flexible.

The promotion and salary adjustment at Klarna could be better communicated to leaders and individual contributors.

Pros

Nice office, drinks, partying culture and that's all Good for persons who like to play politics

Cons

A lot of fake reviews on Glassdoor (looks like) Stagnation Politics even at the engineering level Hard to get salary raise even if the salary is lower then a market Broken promises Tech debt is huge (catastrophic is more appropriate word), outdated technologies and degraded professional level as a result. Negative financial result for the last couple of years and it was not a surprise. Losses are several times higher than company profits for previous years (this is really bad sign) Klarna is not profitable anymore

Advice to Management

Stop playing kindergarten

Pros

Notice how recently there's been 5 good reviews in a short period of time?! That's because we were asked to write good reviews. IT IS A TERRIBLE PLACE TO WORK! Any one who says else wise is lying to you. Everyone is fed up here. We work on something as a team, maybe for a year, then 4 people outside the team redo it all and say "It must be like this!" and we have to do it :) They constantly delude themselves by saying "it's a direction, not an order" but it's a lie. It's an order.

Cons

- Won't fix pay to market standards, just what your current salary is - No Christmas party last year - Not a startup culture. No regular parties, or afterworks (thinking of before corona) - MEGA MICROMANAGEMENT

Advice to Management

Trust your teams. Let someone do something. Stop meddling.
