Does Morgan Stanley offer massages?

Pros

Your salary is paid on time. There are clear policies and procedures for almost everything. There is little room for uncertainties in how to do business. Your role is clearly defined in the contract, and mostly agrees with your job description. Free coffee is available at the break-out areas.

Cons

Salary should be negotiated well during interview. Make sure you know what you are worth. After you start, you barely get an increase afterward. Any increases you will receive will definitely be below the changes in cost of living. The organization is very bureaucratic and hierarchical. The company culture is such that people who have higher titles than you make sure you understand that you are speaking to a senior person when you interact with them. You are supposed to do exactly what you are told to do. You do not really have the opportunity to make suggestions in what you see as failing, or put your ideas forward. You are not going to be listened to. You are not given chance to make impact. Incompetent managers, especially at the mid-level. Definitely not experts in their areas. I have the impression that it is their sheer success in company politics that keep them afloat, not their record of achievements, knowledge or wisdom. (Unsurprisingly) high turnover rates. The management does nothing to keep people motivated, satisfied and recognized.

Advice to Management

Please resign.

Does Morgan Stanley offer dental insurance?

Pros

RRSP with employer’s match, health and dental insurance, yearly bonus, salary above minimum wage, working from home, yearly raise

Cons

Typical bank management, pretend to care about their employees but not really, bonuses and over time are not paid on time, they treat you like a robot and not a human being, they expect too much from us without having management support, management has clearly some favourite employees

Advice to Management

You should genuinely care about your employees, they leave because we feel like you don’t care about us. If we are too many then you should hire more managers so we can have the support we need

Launched in 2006, Global Volunteer Month serves as our annual corporate volunteer program that brings employees together to demonstrate our deep and long-standing commitment to serving those in need. In total, our employees have provided nearly 2.4 million hours to various local and international charities—just during this one month each year. "The world faces more challenges and change than ever, resulting in urgent and far-reaching needs across communities globally — but our commitment to give back has never wavered,” says Joan Steinberg, Global Head of Philanthropy and President of the Morgan Stanley Foundation. Many employees have already made a difference both in and out of our own communities during Global Volunteer Month and throughout the year, making volunteering an opportunity for teams to get together and make an impact across the globe. Learn more about how Morgan Stanley gives back.
