A company that is truly Progressive

      Senior underwriter
      Current employee
      Fort Worth, TX
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Flexible work schedules that are remote, and plenty of overtime available

      Cons

You must be in your current role at least a year to apply for other internal jobs. Most start out in Services, which is a challenging job

Progressive is a good company to work for

      Claims adjuster
      Current employee
      Fort Lauderdale, FL
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Pay is good They have all of the tools you need to move a claim forward Everyone is willing to help each other

      Cons

Stressful job overall! Some days you can feel overwhelmed Some days require overtime to keep up or due to some late claims coming to us but since we are salaried and adjusters there is no overtime pay

      Go with the Flo

      Commercial claims adjuster
      Former employee
      Orange, CA
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Well known top company with good reputation.

      Cons

Heavy workload with too much overtime and poor work life balance. Limited growth opportunity.

      Downward Roller Coaster

      Claims representative
      Current employee
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Majority of coworkers are genuinely nice and welcoming.

      Cons

Workload is unmanageable for an actual work-life balance. Lots of double standards when asked to focus on constantly changing processes yet keep up while being bombarded with non-stop new claims and never a light at the end of the tunnel. No peace of mind with PTO because everyone else is also super swamped so you will return to a giant mess of backed up and delayed claims. Lots of micromanaging that trickles all the way from the top down. The profit sharing is decent but when you account for all the extra hours you have to put in each week to try to keep up with the workload, you would be better off not having to work the extra hours and not get the profit sharing, or get paid overtime.

Interesting work but low pay and micromanagement

      Claims generalist associate
      Current employee
      Maitland, FL
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Investigating claims is interesting work. You'll be helping people over the phone, but there's plenty of non-phone activities so you're not on the phone 24/7.

      Cons

The pay is trash compared to other insurance companies. You will be micromanaged. Pray you get a supervisor with chill. You will work a lot of unpaid overtime.

      Current employee

      Recommend

      Business Outlook

      Pros

      Lots of pto, nice coworker

      Cons

      Long hours no overtime pay

      Lacking work/life balance

      Claims adjuster
      Former employee
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

You get to pick your own schedule. Office pot luck.

      Cons

Corporate training vs onboarding is deceiving. You are passed around from supervisor to supervisor each supervisor has a different way of working so within your first 6 months you are set to fail. There is a lack of leadership and empathy, we are human beings and the unexpected can happen such as a sickness, emergency or loss of a loved one. Your work load does not get addressed perhaps voice mails will. Due to heavy workloads nobody is able to pitch in. You are required to catch up on your work load expected to work 10-12 hours per day until you catch up without any overtime pay regardless of your emotional or physical well being. There is also a lack of work life balance. As a new hire in training you only work until 5pm. Once you start receiving claims and can work past 5 you find yourself working 10-12 hour shifts pers day. There is a huge turnover rate, most people often leave after 6 months due to the toxic work environment and lack of work life balance. There is a huge amount of stress that comes with this role, many of my fellow team members suffered from depression, stress anxiety and a mental breakdown throughout the course of a year. This company is by far the worse company I’ve ever worked for, I’d recommend it to perhaps a college student without children because the job will consume your life personal life. The salary is what attracted me to the role however given the number of hours you work per day the pay is absolutely not worth it.

Be prepared to work a lot of unpaid overtime.

      Claims adjuster
      Current employee
      Salt Lake City, UT
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Can work from home occasionally, good benefits and bonuses.

      Cons

Management assigns unrealistic work loads, does not hire enough people to complete it, and does not compensate employees for working overtime.

      2

      Get ready to slave

      Claims specialist
      Current employee
      Cleveland, OH
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Work from home that is the only benefit

      Cons

Basically, doing the job of two people. Company decides how much overtime they will approve per week due to influx of claims. Not mandatory OT but you will need to use it to keep up with your job. Unrealistic workflow and workload. I don’t know why if they care so much bout diversity and inclusion because there is no time to even participate in ERGs. The health insurance isn’t good. You get PTO but you’re blacked out from using it from November to mid January. No sick days so if you have to call off, it’s an occurrence and you only get five per year
