      Pros

Great entry level job to get foot in the door, for this is a place to make a career. Other pros: excellent company culture, amazing benefits, competitive pay, very generous profit sharing, work from home, both personal and professional development is encouraged, and plenty of support to maintain work/life balance. Many different opportunities to move up or to other business areas. The company has anonymous annual surveys to get an idea of how employees are being treated; this feedback is actually used to make changes for the better.

      Cons

The role itself has a shelf life of about 1.5 yrs. Beyond that and it may break you psychologically. Only about 10% of Specialists stay in the role past 5 yrs; this job is not for everyone. Best to try and quickly move on to other roles. Supervisors tend to only stay for about 2 yrs. I've had 3 different Sups in 4 yrs who were all amazing, but the transition can be rough. Some of the systems are glitchy and make it harder to do your job (issues with audio or calls dropping). Overall the biggest con is the job itself, not anything specific to the company. It's a call center job not meant to be long-term for most people.

      Pros

Pay was decent, benefits, culture, work from home, flexible scheduling, shift bids, green alerts, internal promotion, gainshare

      Cons

The work is mentally exhausting. Calls are back to back, they added a 15 second space between each call to "help" with employee burnout during peak season, but it's not enough. Quotes can take any where from 10-60+ minutes. The days are long. There is no work life balance in my opinion. There are many options to try to make your schedule work with your life, I will admit that. But most shifts are all day, for example: 10am-7pm, 10am-9pm, 9am-6pm. Lunch duration is an hour, but you can opt for a 30 minute lunch to get off 30 minutes early. If working a standard schedule, you get two paid 15 minute breaks and an hour lunch each day. Overall, the culture was good, but I don't recommend due to damage to your mental health. If you like call center work and would like to work from home, then I would certainly recommend Progressive. If you can stick it out, only 1 year is required on the phones, then you can move to a different position. But, do keep in mind, just about every sales consultant or customer service rep is trying to get off of the phones, so it's not a quick move off of the phones at 1 year. I do believe false hopes and expectations are given from day 1 about advancement. Progressive does like to promote from within, but it is very competitive. There is a gainshare bonus each year, the company's performance determines how much the payout will be. It's split into two payments, first payout is right before Christmas, second payout a little after Christmas. Not every consultant in trained to sell multiple products, but I was trained in: Auto, personal lines, and two different renter's products. I didn't appreciate having so many credentials, yet getting paid only 40 cents more than someone coming in with no insurance knowledge whatsoever. The turnover rate is also very high.

      Pros

You can work from home, some of the people are nice, you learn a lot especially if licensed, gainshare at the end of the year

      Cons

Not enough pay, the jobs is stressful, limited room to grow especially to other non-crm departments, just a dead end call center job, if you are in an area of storms, hurricanes etc, they expect you to continue working in a safe location and only pay for that time off if you have pto, some supervisors are bullies and intentionally hold you back, you will leave this job daily with dibilitating headaches and migranes, anxiety, depression etc.Call center is 24hrs

      Pros

If you are looking for a position with decent pay, flexibility and great benefits this is the position for you. The work from home situation as well as the anytime PTO is excellent, especially when you have other responsibilities,

      Cons

The company claims that they offer a career ladder and opportunities for growth, but unless you are willing to wait 3+ years, or you are a favorite of a supervisor or you are affiliated with someone in a middle management position, the possibility for career advancement is bleak.
