What is Sam's Club policy around taking breaks?

      Pros

It's all app-based, but that doesn't mean it's better. It means it's all NOT personal, so you're judged differently. Having the Job App helps clock-in, go to lunch, clock-out. Your schedules on App too (but that doesn't mean it is correct or for more than a couple of days ahead).

      Cons

Also, the Apps Absence reporting is terrible, which never worked for me. If you report a sick day before, you will most likely accumulate points, so a few days in a year means Termination. Pay is weak. bare minimum. $16/hr as stocker/Merch, be prepared to sweat and be used if you have any strength, because that girl with the same job won't do what a strong man does and be paid the same. The place isn't that friendly, everyone has had it with their life and or Customers and you will hear about it just going to the Break room.

      Pros

      * Extra food from cafeteria was put in the break room * Friendly co-workers (same level)

      Cons

*Rude and unforgiving management * Poor working environment *Overworked like crazy * Really no benefits other than you getting a sam's club membership, no discounts or anything bc "already a discount warehouse" They expect you to work like 10 positions because at the time it was understaffed, get mad at you for every little thing despite how hard you are working. I was worked almost 40 hours despite being labled as "part-time", was too young at the time to understand.

We are grateful you have taking time to share this detailed review. This feedback is so important.

It's not a bad place to work for a first time job but dont expect to move up unless you're a suck up.

      Pros

As a tire tech its usually pretty busy so the days go by pretty fast. If you're not busy on a car theres tires to be put away or sent back to the vendors. 30 minute lunch break off the clock and a couple of 15 minute paid breaks for a full 8 hour shift. You get to work with all sorts of cool and interesting people. The super cheap plus membership is a bonus too. You get a quarterly bonus, $150 for part-time and $300 for full-time. You even get a discount on fresh and prepared foods.

      Cons

Management at some clubs is just terrible. They dont care about you as an individual even if what your doing is against OSHA and extremely unsafe. Working in the tire shop you're supposed to have at least 2 people present at all times. There have been multiple times where I personally was left alone in the shop with cars to work on. Club manager kept telling me "I dont want you working on cars by yourself." Yet did absolutely nothing to stop me even though she knew it was going on cause I was the only working tire tech for a month. And only 1 of 2 for over half the same year. At this particular club managment only cared about themselves and any brown nosers that catered to their every whim.

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Not micro-managed. As long as we are doing what we need to, management leaves us alone to do our work.

      Cons

Because we aren't meeting with management much, sometimes people don't plan their breaks well or take overly long breaks and one person is left running the cafe alone for long stretches.

      Toxic environment with disorganized management

      Pros

The pay is good and so are the benefits.

      Cons

This is the worst job I have ever had. I made it 3 weeks before leaving and never coming back. They had me working 12 hour shifts when I was scheduled for 8 but couldn’t leave because I wasn’t finished with the large workload they piled on me. There was absolutely no teamwork, our manager just abandoned us so they could go hang out with their friends. There was no organization, no structure. 100% sure my manager never even knew my name. They had us breaking down pallets just to restack them. There are no consequences for management at all, they can basically do whatever they want and nobody is gonna do anything to stop it. If they're short they throw you into different departments with no training.
