What is paid time off like at Sam's Club?

Pros

Quarterly and annual bonuses, a free membership, employee discount options available, first dibs on disinfectant products, paid leave or paid time off due to circumstances,

Cons

The 30 minute lunch breaks are a NIGHTMARE! If you’re not back in time your name is paged over the intercom for the entire store to hear. Very juvenile. This is a very stressful place of business to work for due to unprofessional supervisors AND managers being staffed here, there is a male manager here that flirts and tries to hook up with the employees and adds them to his social media, some supervisors here show favoritism to select associates, the harder you work the more they want out of you with little to no reward or recognition, the women in leadership roles here are malicious, jealous, rude and take their job too seriously, you are expected to constantly harass people to upgrade their memberships and to sign up for Sam’s credit, you cannot go to the restroom if you have no relief, some of the supervisors here have bad attitudes and seem pretty miserable with no desire to work for the company, some supervisors are rude to the members as well as the employees, employees here feel that they have nowhere or no one to turn to in this store because nothing gets handled so they shut down and become bitter employees with little to no patience for anything, certain policies set in place here basically gives members the right to make the employees their door mats, supervisors give members their way even though it may go against company policy making the employees look like complete fools.

Advice to Management

Get rid of the bad supervisors/managers because everything starts at the top and trickles down like a domino effect. Without no good leaders there are no good followers.

Does Sam's Club offer employee discounts?

Pros

Good starting salary, access to educational benefits beginning on day one, Walmart stock purchase program, Sam's Club Plus membership, in store and online employee discount, 401(k) match and basic health insurance after one year.

Cons

You get thrown in the mix. Not much training. You either swim or sink. Not enough equipment for associates to complete job tasks. Not much of an appetite for maintenance or upgrades of store IT infrastructure.

Advice to Management

Find a way to make sure that associates are fully trained at all of your stores. Revenue is important, but don't cut hours so much that there are not enough people in the store to do the things that need to be done. IT is important to the operations of your stores. It allows associates to complete job tasks, which helps to produce happy members, who continue to shop at Sam's Club. It's worth spending money on!
