What are perks and other benefits like at Sephora?

      Sephora reviews

Sephora a great place to work!

      Manager
      Current employee
      San Francisco, CA
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Great culture, diverse teams, growth opportunities, good benefits and love the perks!

      Cons

Offshore/off-site teams create communication challenges and our high demands for training in so many areas year over year.

      Pretty good

      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

The benefits and pay are pretty good, and if you don't mind working weekends its a great option. If you have a good team, everything runs smooth so i think it definitely varies based on location.

      Cons

Growth is a hard, long, and slow process

      Sephora

      Sales and service coordinator
      Current employee
      Pittsburgh, PA
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Inclusive and safe place to work

      Cons

Little to no benefits, minimum paid time off if not in upper management

      It’s retail

      Sales & services lead
      Current employee
      Seattle, WA
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

lots of perks and decent benefits, can be very fun, pays better than a lot of other retail jobs. free product especially if you’re full time.

      Cons

not a lot of training anymore. SEPHORA seems to be moving away from artistry and spends a lot of time tracking metrics, giving us a goal for almost every single one. payroll has been cut almost in half since 2023 and seems to be tightening even more every year. we had the same amount of hours in our busy spring promotion as we did in January. services staff is losing a lot of training, and they’re taking away a lot of our favorite brushes :( A lot of the tech they want us to use is unreliable or breaks often. Holiday season is a nightmare

      Pros

      Cons

Fast paced, not the best management

      Operations Flex: Worth It?

      Store operations
      Current employee
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Flexible schedule, competitive pay, wonderful team

      Cons

Flex position is not what it is advertised to be, manager favoritism, employee drama, unqualified managers, unreliable hours & income, last selection for shift pickup, no consideration for internal applicants, flex employees not entitled to any benefits or training product which makes it difficult to inform clients about new releases

Overall a great gig, but experience varies heavily

      Stage experience lead
      Former employee
      Halifax, NS
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Great discount, stable hours, good benefits, fun company culture

      Cons

Heavy workload, high stress, can be a very negative experience if you have poor management

      Good experience

      Cons

      Low pay and customer abuse

So much potential to be a good employer...

      Beauty advisor
      Former employee
      New York, NY
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Fun job if you have good coworkers, but the good folks don't usually last because of poor management and leadership.

      Cons

The company consistently reduces employee perks and benefits while purporting to be "employee invested" in order to provide the "best in-store client experience" to stand out against competitors. How are BAs meant to provide a positive store experience when they're constantly hounded about metrics and other arbitrary choices made by corporate employees who have no idea what the store experience is actually like?

      now
Thank you for your feedback and time with Sephora. We understand your concerns around leadership, total rewards, and the pressure tied to metrics. Your feedback about the disconnect between communications from leadership and the in-store experience will help us bridge that gap. Thank you again for sharing your feedback as we continue to show up better for our customers and team members.
