What is paid time off like at Shutterfly?

Pros

- Good first time job out of college - Good work life balance and ability to take time off when needed

Cons

- Terrible recruiting process/ability to move up - I have been interviewing for a job for over a month now to move up within the company and can't get any type of response from the recruiter on next steps or just where the job even stands at this point - No clear direction on how to advance your career. Get bored after staying in the same spot with no real opportunity for growth or career advancement,

Advice to Management

Work on the recruiting process, especially for internal employees. It should not be super challenging to get an update on where you are in the process. Work on ways to keep employees around by giving them more challenges and a feeling that their making a difference and progressing.

Does Shutterfly offer family leave?

Pros

I love the flexible nature of this company to be able to work from home and flex time as needed to attend to appointments. I also love there is plenty of opportunity to change how we do business, as long as you have the initiative to do so. There is also so many great people who work here to partner with. The support is great, and there is good transparency from estaff. Love the recent focus on employee resource groups and diversity goals.

Cons

No paid parental leave, cannot max out 401K if you are a high income earner, and potential that in office days will be required. There is also decent turnover and lack of focus on strategic goals.

Advice to Management

Address benefit issues (parental leave/401K blocks), do not require people to be in the office (flex is the best benefit you give), and narrow down on strategic focus to improve business outcomes. Keep pursuing DEI efforts.
