Does State Farm offer dental insurance?

Pros

Health, vision and dental insurance is good. Salary is fair.

Cons

Change is like the new flavor of the month. As soon as a new flavor comes out we're trying it. Because the culture is insufferable many people are willing to forgo the pay. Sanity is very important. PTO is wanting. Sick days and vacation days are the same. Penalties for using your time and in some departments unable to use your time. Unrealistic work expectations especially when employees are leaving like a revolving door. The culture does not exist. The employee morale is extremely low. Management instills a culture of fear. Employees are told to contribute to continuous improvement processes but management does not listen to understand, but to respond in defense. No time for employees to develop. Customers are important but the employees are also customers too. Employees are leaving consistently and those who stay suffer the work load. with the unrealistic expectation that daily work loads can be managed.

Advice to Management

Change is apart of life and business. It's needed to survive and thrive. How you present those changes is very important. Humility, respect and ownership pertains to front line managers and upper management too. Your employees want to see the company succeed but our faith and support is waning. Treat your employees as professionals. The masses should not suffer for the few. Remember we are not robots. Kaizen can be effective but it still requires the human touch, and common sense. Finally, this company should no longer operate on do as I say and not as I do. We lead by example.

Does State Farm offer family leave?

Pros

Good pay, full benefits for employees working more than 18hrs weekly, 10k tuition reimbursement program, tuition reimbursement available to obtain both undergrad and masters degrees, great parental leave, adoption benefits, can work four 10hr shifts, part time has lots of opportunity to pick up shifts, lots of internal hiring

Cons

Not innovative, working Saturdays and holidays (Christmas, Thanksgiving, New Years, etc.) micromanaged, all about metrics, miscommunication between departments, hard to move up from entry level position or into another department, internal jobs are competitive and consideration only given to those with the best metrics

Advice to Management

Be clear in telling employee this position is strictly metrics and performance based only, the value given to the customer in essence does not matter, metrics and complying to word tracks do (adherence, wrap time, unplanned activity).
