What are perks and other benefits like at Thermo Fisher Scientific?

I am a full time employee with the company and I am really happy. The company has allowed me to grow professionally, and they are quality oriented which is a critical aspect for me, and higher management are always supportive. The benefits package are great! You get company pension contribution +2% over yours, fully paid health insurance, life insurance and you get a wide range of benefits to choose from (critical illness, group income protection, health cash plan, personal travel insurance worldwide cover, and many others to choose from)

Lately there haven’t seen a lot of options if you wanted to change departments, but I’m sure this is something that will change in the near future. Yearly pay adjustments could be more consistent across different departments. It’s not uncommon hearing people in other departments with a similar year end review rating getting different % increases.

The corporate company is fortune 100, top innovative company and has great benefits (tuition reimbursement)

The entire Grand Island site acquisition was a mistake. Thermo Fisher's Grand Island site as a whole is a bad representation of what the company could achieve. Management is retalitory and they do not value their employees. 3 shift changes in 3 years, layoffs, and a culture of "never enough".

Good benefits, flexible time especially if working from home

Some holidays/floating holidays were limited when we got acquired.

Good working environment, good management, good benefits, lots of PTO, low stress, lots of networking opportunity. Despite being a huge company, the management structure is quite decentralized, and your immediate manager has quite a large amount of power (good thing in my opinion, good managers end up very empowered) Large company means a variety of jobs and locations with a steady stream of openings.

PTO pool doubles as sick pay. Internal career advancement is very slow. Pay is on the lower end. Formal job training is nearly non-existent, so come in expecting to self-teach. Thermo is a behemoth assembled from an ever growing pile of formerly separate companies, so navigating the bureaucracy can be hard, slow and frustrating.

Bad cafeteria food. No perks or extra benefits apart from salary and standard insurance

1. Fewer and fewer manager roles. Leadership has eliminated many Finance manager roles making it very difficult to break into the next level of the finance career path. 2. Empty promises of raises/promotions due to a constant cycle of cost cutting. Sacrificing employee wellness and career advancement to achieve EBITA and keep shareholders happy. 3. Poor benefits, other than basic healthcare the company does not offer any competitive benefits to employees (no gym membership, no student load repayment, NOTHING) 4. AWFUL work from home policy. They are extremely strict on being in the office,

Large company with some stability and good benefits, opportunity for internal movement

Lots of standard red tape found at most massive companies that makes getting work done more difficult than it should be. While there is opportunity for internal growth it also means that role turnover is very high

The company does not offer Sick days; if you get sick you have to take vacation (PTO).
