      Great Company To Work For

      Senior data and reporting analyst
      Current employee
      Groveland, FL

      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

-Amazing Benefits: 401k, pension, health, dental, life, yearly bonus -Great people to work for/with. -Resources available to grow.

      Cons

-Hired on remotely, but told everyone near a hub needs to start going into a local hub. For those that are outside of the hub, we've been told we cannot move up in the company unless we're willing to relocate. -A lot of red tape when it comes to getting the access needed to properly do your job. -A lot of red tape to get rid of bad employees. -A lot of organizational changes and restructuring.

Not the best, not the worst

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Decent benefits. Accumulate up 80 hours sick time with rollover. 3 weeks vacation time with the option to purchase an extra week for a tiny deduction from your paycheck over the course of a year.

      Cons

No bonus unless your in management tier. Pay is average, annual raises are conservative with a 4% maximum allotment for the year (if rated extraordinary performer), and no longer a WFH culture

      Recently Let Go - Reorg/Restructure

      Cloud security project manager
      Current employee

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Company recently let go a decent amount of employees on our team, 20 or so. Anyone in the business knows this is par for the course. Plus side they are still paying out my end of year bonuses around 20% of salary and paying me for 16 weeks as severance having only worked here for just over 3 years.

      Cons

Lost my Job If they do rehire me before June (if i apply with company again) I'd have to repay the severance package.

Decent if you have no other experience or are right out of school

      Client relationship consultant
      Current employee
      Kansas City, MO
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

There is an opportunity to learn a decent amount here and to make good connections with the customers that come in. You have to be willing to tell them what you want to learn and make it clear what your career goals are. Only other good thing is you can completely forget about work when you walk out the doors every day.

      Cons

There is a long list that I probably wont get through. First off the training is terrible. They stick you in another branch to shadow with no real training regimen and then throw you to the wolves. There's an endless list of pointless online trainings that constantly get assigned throughout the year and starting this year the goals are so high it's not even possible to achieve, which means no bonuses of course. But don't worry, the pay is already low to start so that's nothing new. We're expected to do the jobs of everyone including, teller, banker, business, and fraud with probably half the pay we deserve from all that. If you're lucky enough to get a manager that understands that the goals are insane, you might have a decent time here. Otherwise it will be constant frustration. Not to mention the fact that we deal with customers all day long and you never know what you'll get when they walk in the door. I wouldn't take this job unless you really want to learn about banking products or have no other experience and can't find one somewhere else. Even if you're looking for your first job out of school, you can do better than here. You don't even need a degree to work here, but you'll only make pennies more if you do have one. I don't recommend.

Women and Mothers Should Avoid U.S. Bank at All Costs

      Senior program manager
      Former employee
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Decent benefits, but have increasingly become too expensive. Vacation and sick time is separate and may roll over (depending on which state you work in). 401k match is ok, but they only pay it in a lump sum the following year, so you miss out on earnings.

      Cons

      - Too big to function well. Having 6-8 different corporate goals/themes renders teams ineffective. - Executive management is out of touch with the reality of employees. - Parental leave package only looks good on paper. If you use it, you are either mommy-tracked or your position is eventually eliminated. - They keep employees with bad reviews and target employees with good reviews. - Giving bad reviews to managers and/or in corporate employee surveys yields no results. Middle management is ineffective and coasts to retirement. HR just sends you back to your manager, so there is no recourse. - The company only cares about violations that would get them flagged by the SEC. They do not care about employees with real internal issues. - They re-org every 1.5 years or so. Lots of layoffs and never have a chance to get things to done. - No talent retention. They keep people with bad reviews and no experience, and get rid of experienced, educated, qualified employees.

      Pros

My team was excellent and our manager was very supportive. I attribute my length of employment there to my immediate manager. They encouraged me to expand my role and abilities. Their tutelage set me up for my new position at another financial institution.

      Cons

The pay was terrible and the yearly reviews were always skewed. Upper management refused to accept anyone was top tier. We often heard no one is allowed top marks. Merit increases were less than cost of living often and there was never a good time to talk about raises. The bank proved time and again you had to leave and then return to get fairly compensated.
