      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Allstate (Hudson, OH) in Mar 2016

      Interview

I interviewed for the Express Claims Service department in Hudson, OH. A recruiter contacted me and I was required to complete a Montage phone interview. Be sure to answer in STAR format and provide specific examples from your work experience. There were quite a few questions, so practice in your best voice and don't forget to speak clearly and positively. I interviewed with a panel of two, a male and female. They told me about the position, job requirements, benefits and salary. I was asked if I had any issue with the starting salary. I was asked a couple of general questions about my interest in the position and my future plans. I'd recommend that you sound invested in their company, chances are they're not looking for someone who's just after a steady paycheck. After that, I was asked three behavioral questions. Make sure to answer in STAR format. A couple more questions were asked mostly I think to see if I really was invested in their company. Be sure to do your research on Allstate beforehand! After that I got to shadow a Claims Service Specialist and got to ask her a couple questions in between her calls. After that I was walked out and told I'd hear something within 2 weeks. A week later, got an email requesting more info from the online Allstate job portal. It took another week for the recruiter to call with an offer, and I accepted!

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Allstate in Mar 2022

      Interview

Received an email to do a prescreen phone interview, I responsed almost immediately that I was pretty much available anytime, sent a second email to them a week later since I did not receive a response, another week went by and I received an email that my initial email had gone to their Spam, scheduled the phone interview for the next day which was about a 10 minute interview and then they contacted me again by email and did a 20 minute interview via Zoom the next week. Received an email 2 days later that other candidates had more experience in the particular department I applied for. Everyone I came into contact with was very nice

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Allstate (Portland, OR) in Apr 2020

      Interview

I applied to this position on 3/10, completed a phone screening with a recruiter on 3/26 (I was asked one behavioral question about multitasking.), and then had a video interview with the hiring manager and the field lead on 4/02. The video interview was in place of the typical in-person one due to COVID-19 precautions. The interview had three parts: the managers welcomed me and gave me a chance to feel comfortable. They asked simple questions told me about the position. Then follows the trickier behavioral questions, and finally you can ask some questions and they'll go over Allstate as a company and the company benefits. A note on the behavioral questions: I once read that interviews are "like a Taco Bell menu," they typically have all the same ingredients, just put together differently. Interview ingredients (besides "tell me about yourself" and "why us?") are examples of: working with others, leadership, conflict resolution, problem-solving/adaptability, organization, failure/weakness, and success/strength. You will probably waste a lot of time on Glassdoor/Indeed if your plan is to find all the possible questions that might be asked during your interview. Spending time familiarizing yourself with your responses to these "ingredients" might be much more beneficial both to your interview at Allstate and any other interviews you may have. :-) During the week following the interview, I received a call from the recruiter with feedback on my interview and an unfortunate message that although I was strongly considered, the position was being cancelled due to everything that is going on in the world today. The recruiter, hiring manager, and field lead were all welcoming and informative about the position. They all seemed like wonderful people to work with and made my application process as positive as possible. I especially appreciated how the recruiter called, even though he couldn't offer me the job, just to give me feedback and to let me know where I stood. I will certainly be looking out for more positions at Allstate in my area.

      Claims Service Specialist Interview

      Negative experience

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Allstate

      Interview

Applied online. Recieved an email to have a phone interview which was automated asking behavioral questions as well as normal questions regarding the position. Next day recieved another email to schedule an in person interview . In person interview was with 2 people about 40 minutes. Normal questions about the position and behavioral questions. Then they had me sit in on a couple of calls with a claims service specialist. Afterward was asked about the experience and sent on my way. Next day recieved an email to complete part 2 of the application which just included entering in my SSN. I assumed for a background check, which I am completely clean on, no issues whatsoever. But after that my application on the website said "Declined" I have not recieved an email stating I didnt get hired or anything of the sort. Just very confused as to why they would request my SSN if they were just going to "Decline" my application.
