I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (Tel Aviv-Yafo) in Feb 2020
Interview
The interview process was long and managed badly,
It included 2 phone interviews and home assignment and later a on site interview which included 4 face to face interviews+1 interview by Amazon chime with an interviewer from Seattle.
The phone interviews were mostly about "Amazon 14 leadership principles"
1. Describe a failure
2. Describe a situation where you had to do data driven decision
3. Select a favorite app and improve it
The onsite interviews where both behavioral and technical but the majority is about "Amazon 14 leadership principles".
The coordination of the phone interviews took a lot of time and the entire HR process (coordination of the onsite and the interviewers were late) was poor and felt very amateurish.
Some of the interviewers were people with no inter personal capabilities- "Describe a situation?"
The home assignment was to write 2 pages about one of the topics
1. Describe a judgement call
or
2. Describe invention of you
Nobody asked about the home assignment nor gave a feedback.
After a week I received a decline generic email with no explanation.
Applied, Recruiter Screen then nothing. Not sure when I'll get a call back. The process seems super complicated. Will apply again now that I know what they are looking for.
HR Screening was scheduled. Then 1 technical screening phone interview was scheduled, followed by two Behavioral interviews, followed by two System design interviews, followed by 1 bar raiser interview. Lastly there was an offer.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Amazon (Seattle, WA) in Nov 2025
