I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (Los Angeles, CA) in Oct 2020
Interview
very casual virtual interview for covid. contacted about a week in advance to set up my interview. day of my interview there was a 15 min pre-brief where a recruiter talked to a group of 6 of us who were about to interview. we all introduced ourselves. first interview was scheduled to be 45 min but lasted about 30 for me. it was with an operations manager and he didn't ask many follow up questions. second interview was about the same length with a logistics manager from a delivery center who asked lots of follow up questions. both had the same type of behavioral questions ("tell me about a time when...") that are supposed to be answer in STAR format. only asked about 4 questions each and lots of time to ask your own questions at the end. also one situational question
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
2 employees show up late, one reports to you and the other reports to another area manager. you dock your employees pay but the other doesn't get docked. what do you do? Follow up question: you find out the other employee is having financial struggles and really needs help, what do you do then?
tell me about yourself
a time when you came up with an out of the box solution?
a time when you helped a peer better themselves?
what are 3 things you are currently doing to better yourself?
what is the biggest obstacle you have had to overcome?
Star Method and Leadership Principles. Just study these from the materials they give you, and form a story for each principle, and when they ask questions, you can see which principle they are asking about.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about a time you faced a conflict or disagreement at work and how did you handle it?"
Multiple online tests after application, followed by a virtual interview with various staff. Staff did not want to be on camera and did not have many good things to say about working there.
Prior to even speaking to anyone about a possible interview there was a long and lengthy testing required. Really disappointing to finish with no feedback or additional details. I only received an email post test.
