I applied online. I interviewed at Amazon (Madrid) in Apr 2021
Interview
I was contacted about 1 week after applying on the website and received the online assessment.
The online assessment is divided in 3 parts, a debugging challenge (easy), a coding challenge with 2 questions (medium), and a behavioural work simulation.
After this, I was contacted for an online interview. The interview was scheduled for the following week, and it consisted of 3 1 hour interviews.
Each interview consisted half of behavioural questions - the type where you have to bring an example using the STAR method - and half of a coding session with the interviewers.
The interviewers were very nice and helpful during the interview and made me feel at ease.
I received an offer 2 working days after the interview.

Describe one occasion when you went above and beyond

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (Cape Town) in Sep 2025
Interview
I had a first phone screen, which was an hour long, had 15 minutes of Hr questions based on Leadership Principles, then 45 minutes of real-time coding problems, You need to know a bit much about DSA to be able to pass the coding challenges, you must think out loud.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What is the difference between a binary tree and a binary search tree?
They asked basic questions about technical stuff, then another purely technical round where I was given one main coding problem, followed by 4 follow-up questions/variations based on the initial problem.
First stage was the OA and workstyles assessment. After getting through it I faced the phone screen interview and I didn't get through it. The coding question was a pretty standard product categorisation coding problem
