      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Amazon in Nov 2014

      Interview

Had to have 2 phone screenings. One with an Engineer and other with a manager. First was for 60 minutes and second for 30 minutes. Onsite was 5 back to back interviews with no breaks. You could visit the toilet if you need though. Phone screenings were 100% technical. Onsite were mainly behavioral. Many many questions about 'what would you (or did you) do in this situation'. Your answers should be based on the leadership principals and you will do more than fine. Technical questions were about things in the job description. Nothing was outside of that. However, you should expect to get asked detailed questions. For example, how does DHCP work? answer to this is not a client requesting an IP and a server responding with one. Answer should be detailed on what ports are used, when it is a broadcast request, etc. Everyone involved in the interview, literally, everyone was very professional and friendly. Some questions were challenging which can make you nervous but remember, the interviewer is just trying to get the best out of you.
