      Sr. Infrastructure Reliability Engineer Interview

      Oct 9, 2023
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Herndon, VA
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (Herndon, VA) in Sep 2023

      Interview

I was referred to this position by a member of the AWS reliability team in Virginia. The initial phone screen took place a week later, during which a team member provided an overview of the role and project. They then asked me to walk them through my resume and discuss my experience as a reliability engineer. Following this, I encountered a technical question concerning the Design for Reliability (DFR) procedure. The subsequent week, I received communication from the recruiter, who arranged my second phone screen with the hiring manager, scheduled for the following week. The second phone screen closely resembled the first, without any leadership-related questions. To the best of my knowledge, everything went smoothly as I did not encounter any stumbling blocks with the questions. However, it appeared that the hiring team was seeking a candidate with extensive experience in DFR, whereas my background was more focused on RCM (Reliability-Centered Maintenance) and field-related aspects. Three days later, I learned that I had not been selected for the third round of interviews.
