I interviewed with a recruiter for a level 1/2 IT Tech Support position. The recruiter said I was ideal for the position and set up an interview for me with HR. When I got to the company the HR rep was no where to be seen and I was interviewed by the IT Manager. Shortly into my hour long ordeal, it started to become apparent to me that I was being interview for a totally different position then I had applied. I believe they were looking for a Senior Sys Admin based on the question they were asking.
The questions asked of me were unrelated to anything on my CV, had the interviewer took the time to read my CV (i.e he asked me if I had any experience with a particular technology even though it clearly states on my resume I am certified in that technology), he would have seen that I was not qualified for the job they intended to hire for.
Apparently the HR Rep didn't know the difference between a level 1/2 Tech Support person and a Senior Sys Admin, even though she is working for a large tech company. During my hour in hell, the interviewer started looking at me like I was waiting his time even though I would have never applied for this position had the posting been managed correctly.
I got the sense that this company is extremely disorganized.
My advice is if you apply to this company, make sure they interview for the correct position.
