I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Applico (New York, NY) in Mar 2018
Interview
Phone screen followed by a case study at their office. Then one-on-one meetings with the team and the CEO. The team members are young and seemed smart but the senior guys are just full of themselves.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The usual behavioral questions and the case study was interesting.
The interview process included several one on one sessions, all held over video chat, as well as a research and presentation assignment, also via video. The interviewers strongly advised candidates purchase and read the founder's book, which touts the competition-crushing benefits of platforms. Note: this is what has nearly destroyed the Web.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Applico (Houston, TX) in Feb 2018
Interview
I had three phone screens. First with a senior "business designer" (basically a consultant), second with the CTO, third with a principal. Everyone had started some sort of company and exited or raised a significant level of capital. All were very friendly. Really connected with them. One was a bit off-putting and full of himself, but in an entertaining way. After phone screens, had a working session with a few employees.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Behavioral questions in phone screens. Describe your background, what do you bring to the team, etc. Working session question: design a platform solution for a high fashion boutique.
