I applied online. I interviewed at Ascension in Sep 2021
Interview
I didn't actually go through an interview process. I received a call from a recruiter in which I received nothing but positive feedback. In her words, several times might I add, she said "you are exactly what we're looking for." I was told to expect communication from her and the hiring manager within that same week and never heard a word. About 6 weeks from the date I received the call I got an email saying that my experience wasn't aligned with what they were looking for and have pursued other candidates. That is totally fine, but don't tell me I'm exactly what you're looking for and have what you're looking for to then tell me the complete opposite.

I applied online. I interviewed at Ascension (Moody, AL)
Interview
Unfair hiring practices; seems like this company was hiring referred candidates for this position and only interviewing outside candidates to show they 'considered all applicants'. I was contacted by a talent advisor to schedule a screening call about 8 hours after I submitted my application to Ascension. That conversation with talent advisor was brief and she quickly scheduled me a zoom interview with the hiring manager. During the zoom interview the hiring manager was not professional, in multiple instances during that call she wasn't paying attention and didn't try to hide it. She mentioned in the beginning of the conversation they hire based on referrals, her friend worked for Ascension and helped her get a job there several years ago. In hindsight, the hiring manager knew she was not going to hire me before she had a zoom interview with me. This process wasted my time as I took things seriously, I would have rather not interviewed with them.
I didn't know much about Ascension prior to this experience, but I was not impressed and do not appreciate this method of hiring. I am an experienced recruiter and surprised they weren't more discreet about what they are doing. If a recruiter/talent advisor reaches out to you within 8 hours of submitting your talent advisor application with them – that is your first red flag that they're trying to get through candidates quickly.
