      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Audible (Newark, NJ) in Nov 2023

      Interview

Compared to other interviews, seemed pretty grueling and dragged-out. They want you to drink the 'kool-aid' from Day 1 and really get behind the product. Felt suffocating! Interviewees were generally pleasant, but everyone seemed to ask the same questions. Last interview was with the Exec who I'd be supporting and it fell completely flat. She was too busy to seem interested and explained how she was all over the place.

      Question 1

Along with the typical interview questions like 'what are your weaknesses?' there was a lot of 'what is your favorite Audible podcast/show?' etc.

      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Audible (Newark, NJ) in Jul 2024

      Interview

Nice people from recruiter to leader and other team members. Moderate interview with focus on their People Principles. Would have preferred a group interview vs. individual interviews, but no big deal. They decided to go with another candidate, but I appreciated the recruiter keeping me in the loop during the entire process.

Give an example when someone on your team challenged you and how did you handle that situation?

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Audible

      Interview

I submitted my resume to a job board. I was contacted by HR within 2 days for a telephone screen. I spoke with HR by phone and was told at the end they will arrange for a telephone interview with the Executive filling the position. The executive's 2nd set of questions - do you have kids, how many, how old? The rest of the interview was standard but having an HR background, I know this is not legal. Within 5 minutes of ending the interview, I received the standard email thanking me for my interest but they are proceeding with other candidates. I emailed the HR person who initially contacted me and thanked him for the opportunity to interview by phone and stated that I understand the difficulty of filling such of important position. I also told him about the family questions. I was surprised to receive a response - but he responded "Thank you for the feedback. I will follow-up internally."
