    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at BOLD.

    Interview

I was contacted via social media. The interviewer didn't have a clue about the position itself, and kept asking me to speak slowly, so she could write everything down. In the end, I was asked about my salary expectations and got immediately declined on the phone. The salary that they offer is a joke.

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at BOLD.

    Interview

Went through a series of interviews for the department I applied for; e.g. my prospective manager, members of the dep't, etc. The interviews took about two hours in total. They asked multiple questions about my resume, prior experience, and particular skillsets. Nothing extraneous, and overall it was a very positive experience. Unlike prior interviewing experiences I have had, I immediately felt the relaxed ambience and I appreciated the fact that each of the interviewers seemed to want to know who I was as an individual, rather than solely trying to discern what I could do for the company. In that sense, I was able to open up much more than I thought possible for an interview, and give them a clear perspective on what I would be like as a team member. I believe that as crucial as it is for the interviewing candidate to be wholly prepared, competent, and markedly presentable, interviewers also need to provide candidates with the opportunity to shed the "typical interviewee front" during that stressful interviewing period, which BOLD executed with ease.

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at BOLD (San Francisco, CA) in October 2017.

    Interview

The whole process from start to finish took approximately one month. I thought that was a reasonable fast cycle from initial contact (they reached out to me on LinkedIn), to recruiter phone screen, to hiring manager phone screen, to in person interview round and closure at the end.

    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at BOLD (San Francisco, CA) in August 2016.

    Interview

Applied on LinkedIn, got a call to set up a phone screen. After passing phone screen I had a phone interview with one of the team members, and after that came into the office to meet the rest of the team. I was told some candidates have an interview with the development team after passing the in-office interview, but I didn't have one.

The entire process took about six weeks. After signing the offer I was given a start date two weeks away.

    Interview Questions

    • I was presented with screenshots of various product pages and asked how I would change or improve them.   Answer Question

    Project Manager Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in San Francisco, CA

    Negative Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took a week. I interviewed at BOLD (San Francisco, CA).

    Interview

The recruiter was late for a few minutes. She clearly doesn't know much about the position or my experience. I don't know if she had even looked at my resume before the interview. She seemed to be not sure about what to ask at first and then came up with some random interview questions. I was left the impression that she was going to proceed with my application. However, I received an rejection email saying "While we were impressed with your background and experience, we have concluded that we will not be moving forward at this time". Although I asked for feedback, I never heard back from them. I didn't feel appreciated by them as a candidate.
