Very unprofessional experience, i passed the first stage of the interview and was invited to the second stage for an assessment. This was then cancelled as I was told they couldn't initiate a quorum. I discovered after this they have re advertised this role but only for internal candidates which I found strange. 3 weeks later, I get a call from the hiring manager informing me that as 2 other candidates couldn't attend the 2nd stage interview they offered the position to an internal candidate. Absolutely unprofessional, lack of communication or transparency, if they wanted to offer it to an internal candidate why advertise to external candidates in the first place. The different reasons given all contradict each other, if you said no from the start it would and not give silly excuses it will save every one time as preparing for an interview is time consuming. The hiring manager was very blaise about all this as if she was going through the motions without giving an concrete reasons for their actions, how can you punish candidates for other candidates not being available, this is ridiculous. The hiring manager clearly needs more experience in hr and the recruitment process as she seemed very incompetent to me.
My advice to fellow candidates, be wary of changing goal posts and a lack of professionalism when interviewing for this team.
