Block Software Engineer (Backend/Rails) interview questions

I made it to the final round. Everybody at square was incredibly professional and fun to chat with except for the recruiter. The recruiter could have done a better job. He didn’t show up to the scheduled calls until I texted him asking if he was going to make it. He told me that based on the feedback that he thought I wasn’t getting the job but he wanted to wait until the hiring manager made a decision. He told me three (3) times I would hear back on you on a final decision on a specific day, only for each day to pass without a decision. Once he finally heard back and the answer was no, he told me to go looking for his calendar if I wanted to schedule some time for him to give me feedback. I get it, I didn’t get the job and that’s fine, but the recruiters handling of the situation leaves an incredibly bad taste in my mouth of an otherwise great experience and company. Square prides itself in being a transparent and people company, he should at least play the part.
