    Difficult Interview

    Application

    I applied in-person. I interviewed at Bon-Ton Stores.

    Interview

The bon ton interview was fine in person but the original application can be hard to pass. I ended up getting a job but by far the hardest part was the clinique talent plus interview that has to be passed to work for clinique.

I applied online. The process took a week. I interviewed at Bon-Ton Stores (Chicago, IL) in August 2017.

    Interview

I was emailed with a request for a phone interview. I was asked basic questions regarding my management style, my goals, my leadership abilities. The interviewer was impressed and actually said "Oh Wow, that's impressive" at one point. One week later I was called by the regional manager and told they decided to go in another direction.

I was told by an insider, it's not what you know, but who you know in the Chicago region.

    Interview

Applied online and got a call to come in for an interview 1-2 days later. I enjoyed the interview. No bad vibes from my interviewer. There were quite a few questions regarding retail situations and just basic interview questions, and the interviewer really seemed to want to know what kind of person I was. I got a call about 2 days after the interview and was offered a position, which I gladly accepted.

    Merchandising Interview

    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Bon-Ton Stores (Madison, WI) in October 2016.

    Interview

The night before they took us to a mixer at the restaurant, then I had a one-on-one interview with, first a human resources person, and second a buyer. After that I got an offer to tour the corporate offices. It was all very relaxed and I felt very comfortable during the interview. Everyone was so nice and welcoming. The corporate tour was a ton of fun and it was great seeing where we would potentially be living and working. The gave us a two hour bus tour of Milwaukee too. I think the thing that helped me the most was going to the mixer. The only people who were offered to attend the corporate tour attended the mixer the night before the interview, so if they offer this 100% attend.
