I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at C.H. Robinson in Sep 2012
Interview
I applied to the job on a Friday and heard from a recruiter that following week to set up a phone interview. I enjoyed the phone interview and the comradery experienced over the phone. I passed but then was told that I had to take the personality assessment. I was excited because I thought for once a company would not base their hiring on a generic test.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
There wasn't a difficult question. I know how to interview but am no longer looked as a potential candidate because I somehow answered outside of their realm of who I should be..? Even though, the questions do not explain who I am as a person but rather I am forced to answer them either way. "Do I know why stars twinkle" "Art is one of my hobbies"... I don't know how this explains my personality. I guess it goes with how our society forgets about meaningful relationships and getting to know a person. Interview me more and base your decision off of that and not on a 3rd party test site that you have to pay to better "understand" me as a person.
The process took 1 week. I interviewed at C.H. Robinson (Chicago, IL)
Interview
Long but not too stressful. they take you down to shadow employees and then interview you further. behavioral questions mainly.first started with a phone interview then asked what time next week to come in and go from there.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at C.H. Robinson (Luxembourg)
Interview
Phone call then in person interview. The guy was friendly and so was the atmosphere. He basically explained the job while asking contextual questions/my opinion on the matter. The main think he tried to assess was basic understanding / ability to speak clearly / motivation for the job.

Question 1
Basic knowledge of the company/job/industry, they try to judge if you enjoy the industry
I applied through a recruiting session at my university. First interview was on campus, lasted about 30min. Be prepared with notes about the company's background, roles, history, mission statement. Lots of behavioral questions about past job experience and other questions about competitiveness. Come prepared with two questions about the companies culture, two questions about the role, two questions about the company, and two questions about the interviewer. The first interview is all about if you did you're homework or not. The second interview took place at C.H Robinson's office in Chicago. From the second you walk through those doors they are testing you. Don't be on your phone while waiting in the lobby and treat the receptionist properly. You shadow an employee on the customer side and the carrier side of the business; Ask them lots of questions! After shadowing there are two more interviews with a role play exercise.
