      Learning Designer Interview

      Feb 23, 2010
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Toronto, ON
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

The process took 1 week. I interviewed at CIBC (Toronto, ON) in Jan 2010

      Interview

It started off with a very detailed phone interview. (about 30-45 minutes). I was asked questions about why I wanted to work for CIBC, what my greatest strength was, my salary expectations, past salary, what my greatest accomplishment was etc. The second interview was very detailed and for every question they asked, after my response, they asked very detailed follow up questions. For example, they asked why I wanted to work for them and I explained what I knew about the company and how those things were important to me. They then asked if I had any experience dealing directly with CIBC that would reinforce what my impressions of the company were. They told me the problems they were facing in their department and asked me how I would fix them. They asked why they should hire me over other candidates. That's all I can remember, but I remember leaving there sweating. I have to say I have had a lot of experience interviewing and usually do fairly well but this was one of the toughest interviews I had!
