    Interview

I was first interviewed by Talent/HR then interviewed by Elyse Brisko. Both women were lovely to talk with and laid back. Elyse gave more description as far as the day to day. Taryn, HR, spoke more about logistics and about the company itself. The interview was not stressful at all, I felt more at home than anything.

    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Caleres (Saint Louis, MO) in April 2016.

    Interview

The first opportunity to interview was digital. The advantage to a digital interview is being able to choose the best time (within a week) to do the interview. I did it on my computer with a webcam and was really glad they gave me the option to practice some questions first! I did not like that it felt very ackward talking to the screen and seeing myself. Perhaps I am old fashioned and prefer to see who I am speaking to as well as their reaction to my answer.

The second interview was very uncomfortable. I was told I would be interviewed by a panel of five managers, but I was really caught off guard when I arrived and saw five other interviewees were being ushered into the interview alongside me. Although the senior manager expressed it was their intent to make it as comfortable as possible for everyone, it was highly competitive and not at all what I expected. We were all given the opportunity to quickly introduce ourselves and experience then we had two questions pertaining to how we handled difficult situations. After that we all left the room, then they brought us back in one by one so we could ask them questions.

    Interview Questions

    • Tell us about a time you had to tell a customer bad news and how you handled the situation.   Answer Question

    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Caleres (Saint Louis, MO) in August 2015.

    Interview

Interviews were set up with key members of management who were taking part in the hiring decision. The process allowed me to get a good sense of the role responsibilities, the team I would be working with and for, and the company expectations. The process took a reasonable amount of time. The company is thorough when looking for good talent.

    Interview Questions

    • The assessment I had to take was very robust taking you through several different types of tests.
The questions asked were fair and relevant to the role I was interviewing for.   Answer Question
