I applied through college or university. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Capital One in Apr 2011
Interview
I applied through my college. Completed online math and verbal tests. Verbal was easy and for math I did not finish all of the questions but still made it to the next round. On-site interview. Everyone was very nice. Advice to candidates: Don't waste time memorizing case study frameworks. The case studies are all algebra. Go to bed very early the night before so you can think clearly. Hardest part is doing math quickly and accurately under the stress. ***Practice math that you haven't done since high school such as making two equations equal to each other and solving for a variable. Using x and (1-x), percentages etc. *** The case study questions I had have already been listed by other people so I'm not going to list them again. You need to make equations that you think will give you the answer and solve. If its a transportation question write out the times because you will miss one. Behavioral interview was easy. Three simple questions and the interviewer writes down your story. They ask things such as when did you have to convince a group of your opinion and ask many followup questions to your answer. Some people get asked to stay for a third case study after lunch which can mean many different things.

1 online assessment followed by Power Day with 1 product and 2 cases. Power Day was quite tricky with concepts being combined and tested in different forms. Staying calm and taking in every word is crucial in keeping up with the casing.

I thought I did really well, but they emailed me back in a few hours, rejecting me. This was for the online test before the power day, and they didn't even give me a score.
